After years of carrying the FC 25 Coins branding, EA is at least considering changing up the name of its yearly soccer entry. The " FIFA " stickers and logo graphics would go away, but the rest of the game would remain unchanged.

Cam Weber, an executive with EA Sports wrote to fans about the FC 25 Ultimate Teamure of the game that the company is considering the change, but sounded very non-committal. Recently, trademark and copyright sleuths have seen that the company has already filed a possible new name. The copyrights were filed with the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Intellectual Property Office on October 1st.

The name filed to both copyright commissions was "EA Sports FC". The change to "EA Sports FC" will put the publisher's name front and center on the world's most popular soccer video game. It also lines up nicely with some of EA's other returning sports games. The EA Sports PGA Tour and EA Sports College Football return after a hiatus, sans the pro golfer and NCAA naming rights respectively. The name may sound a bit generic, but it remains in line with the game's identity. EA pays for the naming and player rights directly to continental leagues like UEFA for the Champion's League and Europa league, leaving very minor involvement from the organizing body of world soccer.

The challenge lies in if the FIFA organization would mind losing its headlining place on one of the most popular games in the world. According to the statement by Cam Weber, carrying the " FIFA " name on the box is pennies in comparison to what the company pays to the biggest league and football associations to keep the players and team likeness. FIFA, on the other hand, stands to lose the synonymity of its name with the premiere soccer video game. The Fut Coins for sale branding carries more weight when the FIFA World Cup games for the men's and women's tournament are being held, but that's a bi-annual release, leaving the remaining off years to be relegated to being just another sticker.
